As a software developer, I have extensive experience in configuring code for cloud services, utilizing cloud infrastructure services to scale applications and reduce operational costs. However, for longer-running jobs, I also have experience hosting Linux on-premises.

Running services on-premises can provide greater control and flexibility, allowing developers to fine-tune configurations and optimize performance. While managing and maintaining an on-premises server can be time-consuming and requires technical expertise, the benefits of having 24/7 computing services in house and being able to host longer running processes that wouldn't qualify for a cloud platform's free tier is invaluable.
